ORDER:

In the Government Order read above, the Post Graduate Department of Legal Studies in the Chennai University was transferred to the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University.

2. Representations were received from various quarters to cancel the orders issued in the Government Order read above and to restore the Post Graduate Department of Legal Studies with the Chennai University.

3. The Government, after examining the representations in consultation with the Vice-Chancellors of the Chennai University and the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, have decided to re-transfer the Post Graduate Department of Legal Studies to the Chennai University from the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University.

4. The following Notification will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary,  dated 19th February 2007:-

NOTIFICATION.

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (6) of section 68 of the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University Act, 1996 (Tamil Nadu Act 43 of 1997), the Governor of Tamil Nadu, in consultation with the Vice-Chancellors of the Chennai University and the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, re-transfers on and from the 19th February 2007, the Post Graduate Department of Legal Studies, which was transferred from the Chennai University to the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University in G.O.Ms.No.178, Law (LU) Department, dated 12.8.2005, to the Chennai University from the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University.
