ABSTRACT Welfare Scheme – Tamil Nadu Agricultural Labourers – Farmers (Social Security and Welfare) Scheme – Allotment of funds to the Director of Legal Studies – Partial modification to the orders – Issued. LAW (L.S.) DEPARTMENT. G.O.Ms.No. 23. Read: 1. G.O.Ms.No. 9, Law (LS) Department, dated 11.1.2007. 2. Director of Legal Studies Letter Rc.No. 240/A1/2007, dated 29.1.2007. -- ORDER: In the Revised Budget Estimate 2006-2007, a sum of Rs.1,00,00,000/- (Rupees one crore only) has been allotted to Law Department under the Tamil Nadu Agricultural Labourers – Farmers (Social Security and Welfare) Scheme, 2006 for providing educational assistance to the children of the members of the said Scheme studying Law. Out of the said amount of Rs.1,00,00,000/- (Rupees one crore only), a sum of Rs.80,00,000/- (Rupees Eighty lakhs only) was apportioned for providing educational assistance to the children of members of the said Scheme studying Law and belonging to other than Scheduled Caste community and a sum of Rs.20,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty lakhs only) was apportioned for providing educational assistance to the children of members of the said Scheme studying Law and belonging to Scheduled Castes community. 2. In the Government order first read above, the Director of Legal Studies was authorised to draw and disburse the said amount to the eligible beneficiaries in the Government Law Colleges and the School of Excellence in Law in the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University. 3. In the letter second read above, the Director of Legal Studies has requested to issue necessary clarification as to whether he may draw and disburse the said amount to the eligible beneficiaries in the private Central Law College, Salem and if so to permit him to correspond with the administration of the said College to get the applications and to draw and disburse the said amount. The Government have considered the request of the Director of Legal Studies carefully and decided to accept the same. 4. Accordingly, in partial modification of the orders issued in the Government Order first read above, the Director of Legal Studies is hereby authorised to draw and disburse the said amount to the eligible beneficiaries in the private Central Law College, Salem also.
