Legal Education - Augmenting resources of the State - Revision of non-tax revenues from the academic year 2003-04 - orders - issued.

3. From the Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, VC/Fee Comm-Minutes/2003/52, dated. 5.8.03.

In the letter first read above, the Director of Legal Studies requested the Government to revise existing non-tax revenues including usercharges. (viz) Tuition fees, Fines, Penalties, etc. in the Legal Education department as the existing usercharges have not been revised for the past 30 years.

2. After carefully considering the proposal sent by the Director of Legal Studies, the Government decided to constitute a high level Committee to look into the matter of revision of non-tax revenues in the legal education department as the revision may affect student fraternity. Accordingly, the Government in the G.O. second read above constituted a High-Level committee comprising of the following officers and directed to submit its recommendations within two weeks, namely:-

3. In the letter third read above, the said committee submitted its recommendation to the Government. The Government carefully examined the recommendations and accept its recommendations without any modification and order the revision of non tax revenues including usercharges in legal education as shown in the annexure to this order.

4. The revision ordered in para-3 above shall come into force from the academic year 2003-04.

6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance department vide its U.O.No. 145 / SS(K.R) / 03, dated. 7.8.03.
