No.CA - LAB / 3 - 17 / GIA / 2006 - 07 / 9398, dt.20.2.2007. ***** ORDER: In the Government Order 1st read above, the Government have issued administrative sanction for the implementation of the Revised Integrated Housing Scheme for Beedi Workers, 2005 in Tamil Nadu. The Government have also ordered in the said Government Order that after getting administrative approval from Government of India under this Scheme and after receiving the first instalment of Rs.20,000/- from the Government of India, the State Subsidy of Rs.5,000/- per worker will be released to the District Collectors concerned in lieu of beneficiaries contribution. 2. Under the Revised Integrated Housing Scheme for Beedi Workers 2005, 2339 applications as detailed below had been forwarded to the Government of India, with a request to release their share of Subsidy of Rs.9,35,60,000/- (i.e. 2339 x 40,000/-) for construction of houses of Beedi Workers in the Government letter 2nd read above.

In the Government Order 3rd read above, the Government have accorded sanction for incurring an amount of Rs.1,16,95,000/- (Rupees One Crore Sixteen Lakhs Ninety five thousand only) as State Government’s Subsidy for 2339 houses towards workers contribution under Revised Integrated Housing Scheme, 2005. 4. The Government of India, in their letter 4rd read above, have conveyed the approval of the President of India for the grant of administrative approval and release of uniform subsidy of Rs.40,000/- per tenement amounting to Rs.72,00,000/- (Rupees Seventy two Lakhs only) for the construction of 180 houses by the beedi workers in Tiruvallur (124) and Tiruvannamalai (56) Districts in Tamil Nadu and requested to release the same to the Collectors of Tiruvallur and Tiruvannamalai Districts in two equal instalments. Accordingly in the Government Order 6th read above, the Government have released a sum of Rs.24,80,000/- to the Collector of Tiruvallur District and a sum of Rs.11,20,000/- to the Collector of Tiruvannamalai District totally amounting to Rs.36 Lakhs being the first instalment of Subsidy of Central share @ Rs.20,000/- per tenement for the construction of 180 houses in Tiruvallur District and Tiruvannamalai District for the Beedi Workers under Revised Integrated Housing Scheme, 2005. 5. The Government of India in the reference 7th read above, have conveyed the approval of the President of India for grant of administrative approval and uniform subsidy of Rs.40,000/- per tenement and release of 50% Subsidy amounting to Rs.431.80 Lakhs (Rupees four hundred and thirty one lakhs and eighty thousand only) (out of the total subsidy of Rs.863.60 lakhs for the construction of 1151 houses for the beedi workers in Tirunelveli District and 1008 houses in Vellore District in Tamil Nadu under the Revised Integrated Housing Scheme for beedi workers 2005 as amended vide their letter dated 2.2.2007 and requested to release the same to the Collectors of Tirunelveli and Vellore Districts. 6. Accordingly, sanction is hereby accorded for the release of a sum of Rs.230.20 Lakhs (Rupees two hundred and thirty lakhs and twenty thousand only) and a sum of Rs.201.60 (Rupees two hundred and one lakhs and sixty thousand only) being the first instalment of Central share @ Rs.20,000/- per tenement for the construction of 1151 houses in Tirunelveli District and 1008 houses in Vellore District respectively for the Beedi workers under Revised Integrated Housing Scheme, 2005. 7. The Commissioner of Labour is authorized to draw and disburse the above amount to the District Collectors concerned. 8. The Expenditure sanctioned in para 7 above shall be debited to the following Head of Account. 2230. Labour and Employment – 01. Labour 109. (DPC No.2230-01-109-JA. 0937) 9. Necessary fund has been provided in FMA / FSE for the year 2006-07. The District Collectors are requested to send proposals to Government for the release of second instalment of Subsidy in due course as per Government of India’s guidelines. 10.
