U.O.Note No..9740 / Finance (L & E) Department, dated 12.2.07 ***** ORDER: The Integrated Housing Scheme for Beedi Workers is implemented in this state with Central Government subsidy of Rs. 40,000/- and the state subsidy of Rs.5000/- 2. The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India in their letter first read above, has granted administrative approval for a sum of Rs.269.60 (Rupees Two hundred and sixty nine lakhs and sixty thousand only) as Central subsidy for construction of 674 houses for the Beedi workers in Tirunelveli District during 2004-2005. 3. In the Government Order second read above, the Government have sanctioned a sum of Rs.14.60 lakhs (Rupees fourteen lakhs and sixty thousand only) as State Subsidy for construction of 292 houses for Beedi Workers at the rate of Rs.5000/- per house in Tirunelveli District under the Integrated Housing Scheme for Beedi Workers for the year 2004-2005. 4. The Commissioner of Labour, in his letter third read above has sent the proposal for sanction of Rs.6,10,000/- (Rupees six lakh and ten thousand only) as state subsidy for construction of 122 houses for Beedi workers in Tirunelveli District at Rs.5000/- per beneficiary. 5. The Commissioner of Labour in his letter fourth read above, has also sent proposal for sanction of Rs.4,90,000/- (Rupees four lakhs ninety thousand only) as state subsidy for construction of 98 houses for beedi workers in Tirunelveli District at Rs.5000/- per beneficiary. 6. The Government, after careful consideration, accept the proposals of Commissioner of Labour and sanction a sum of Rs.11 lakhs (Rupees eleven Lakhs only) as state subsidy for construction of 220 houses for Beedi Workers at the rate of Rs.5000/- per house in Tirunelveli District under the Integrated Housing Scheme for Beedi Workers for the year 2004-2005. 7. The amount sanctioned in para 6 above shall be debited to the following head of account. 2230-Labour and employment – 01 Labour -109 Beedi Workers Welfare Scheme in the Tenth five year plan- II State Plan- JA-Grant for Beedi Workers for “ Build your own House Scheme”- 09 –Grants –in-Aid. 03 Grants for specific Schemes (DPC-2230-01-109-JA-0937) 8. Necessary additional funds has been provided in R.E. 2006-2007 in the U.O.note sixth read above. The Administrative Officer (Minimum Wages), Office of the Commissioner of Labour, Chennai-6 is authorized to draw and allocate the amount to the beneficiaries for disbursement. 9. The Commissioner of Labour is the estimating, reconciling and controlling Officer in respect of the above head of account. The Commissioner of Labour, Chennai-6 is also directed to send necessary Utilisation certificates for the expenditure sanctioned in para 6 above. 10.
