ORDER:

In the G.O.Ms.No.72, Labour and Employment, dated:22.5.2003 orders have been issued by the Government for the purchase of 14 computers to ESI Directorate and all other ESI Hospitals in Tamil Nadu at the cost of Rs.9.81 lakhs under Par II Scheme 2003-2004.

2. The Director of Medical and Rural Health Services(ESI) in his letter dated:9.12.2003 has stated that the ELCOT authorities have revised the cost of 14 computers at Rs.9,89,141/- vide its letter dated 27.11.2003 and ‘VAT’ charges has to be paid extra at the time of delivery.  He has therefore requested the Government to revise the Budget allotment from Rs.9.81 lakhs to Rs.10.00 lakhs (Rupees ten lakhs only) to settle the amount to ELCOT authorities  which exceeds the amount sanctioned in G.O.Ms.No.72, Labour and Employment, dated 22.5.2003 due to escalation of prices and VAT charges.

3. In the circumstances stated in para 2 above and in partial modification of orders issued in G.O.Ms.No.72, Labour and Employment(L2),dated:22.5.2003, the Government sanction a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees ten lakhs only) towards purchase of 14 computers to ESI Directorate and all other ESI Hospitals in Tamil Nadu under Part II Scheme for the year 2003-04.

4. Necessary additional fund of Rs.19,000/- will  be provided in Final Modified Appropriation 2003-2004. The Pay and Accounts Officer, Chennai-35 is permitted to admit the bill otherwise in order, pending provision of fund in Final Modified Appropriation 2003-2004.

5. The Director of Medical and Rural Health Services(ESI) is requested to include this additional expenditure in the Final Modified Appropriation 2003-04 proposal without fail.

6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.1908/Labour and Employment Department/04-1 and additional sanction  ledger No.1034, dated:24.1.2004.
