ABSTRACT

ESI Scheme – Implementation of the scheme to Sivakasi suburbs by attaching the employees therein with the existing ESI dispensaries, Sivakasi and Thayilpatti in Virudhunagar District  – Orders issued.

ORDER:

The Government after due process,  sanction the implementation of ESI Scheme to Sivakasi suburbs by attaching 1280 workers therein with  the existing ESI Dispensaries at Sivakasi and Thayilpatti in Virudhunagar District.

2. Sanction is also accorded for incurring a recurring expenditure  of Rs.2,17,600/- (Rupees Two lakhs seventeen thousand and six hundred  only) towards provision of medicines to these employees and their family members.

3.The  facilities  like specialist treatment, hospitalization, laboratory test, X-ray, etc would be made available to the employees and their families by way of referring the beneficiaries to the ESI Hospital, Sivakasi and Government Headquarters Hospital, Virudhunagar.

4.The expenditure shall be debited to the head of account:-

“2210 Medical and Public Health – 01 Urban Health Services-Allopathy – 102 ESI Scheme-I Non Plan – AG-expenditure on ESI Scheme covering both the  Insured Persons and their families-66 Medicines” (D.P.Code No.2210-01-102- AG- 6605).

The expenditure will be  initially be incurred by the State Government and fully reimbursed  by the ESI Corporation for a period of three years from the date of implementation of the  ESI Scheme in the above area and thereafter the expenditure shall be shared between the  ESI Corporation and the State Government  in the agreed ratio of 1:7 within the overall ceiling.

5.The Director of Medical and Rural Health Services (ESI) is directed to take action to make necessary provisions in the financial year 2002-2003 for the expenditure sanctioned in paragraph 2 above.

6. The formal Notification under Section 1(3) of the ESI Act,1948 fixing the date from which the medical facilities shall be extended to the Insured Persons and their families in the above area  will be issued by the Central Government.  The Director of Medical and Rural Health Services (ESI) shall suggest immediately a suitable date for the extension of the ESI Scheme to the above area after making all the medical arrangements in the said dispensaries in consultation with the Regional Director, ESI Corporation, Chennai-34.

8.This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No.8884 / Labour and Employment Department / 2003-1 Dated:19.2.2003.
