ORDER;
The Government in the Order first read above, issued orders regarding the maintenance of medical and Surgical equipments and also drugs to be maintained in the Garden Hospital and Dispensaries in the Plantations in Tamil Nadu. In addition to the above, the list of registers to be maintained in the Garden Hospitals and Dispensaries and also the list of returns and forms to be submitted to the Chief Inspector of Plantations every half year were proposed. subsequently in the Government Order second read above, based on the recommendation of the Commissioner of Labour, orders were issued prescribing the list of the drugs to be maintained in the garden Hospitals as per the Annexure III and the list of drugs to be maintained in the dispensaries as per Annexure IV thereon.
2) The Commissioner of Labour in his letter IIIrd read above has stated that the list of medicines prescribed in the above Government Order is almost 18 years old, and most of the medicines prescribed are now out dated or banned and in order to meet the modern treatment and diagnosis, It has been observed that the existing medicines are not adequate and he has therefore suggested that the said Government Order may be modified.
3) The Commissioner Labour has obtained a revised list of medicines to be maintained in the Garden Hospitals and Dispensaries in Plantations from the Assistant Surgeon (Plantations), Nagercoil and also obtained the approval of the Director of Medical and Rural Health Services, Chennai and has requested the Government to make necessary amendments to the said Government Order regarding the list of drugs to be maintained in the Garden Hospitals and Dispensaries as per the Annexure III and IV thereon. He has sent necessary proposal to make suitable amendments to the Annexure III and IV of the said Government Order No.2216,ILC Department, dated.16.5.1966.
4) The Government have examined the proposal of the Commissioner of Labour and accept the above suggestion and accordingly issue the amendment to the Government Order No.2216 ILC Department dated.16.5.1966. The appended notification will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette.
5 ) The Works Manager, Government Central Press is requested to send to Government 5 copies of the Gazette in which the notification is published for records.

NOTIFICATION.
In exercise of the powers conferred by rules, 23 and 24 of the Tamil Nadu Plantations Labour Rules, 1955, the Governor of the Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Industries, Labour and Co-operation (Labour) Department Notification III No.1164 of 1966 dated the 18th May 1966, published at pages 1489 to 1499 of part III of the Fort St.George Gazette, dated the 7th September 1966, as subsequently amended.
