ORDER:

In G.O.Ms.No.103, Labour and Employment Department, Dated:15.7.1997 orders were issued for extension of ESI Scheme in Gangaikondan area in Tirunelveli District by attaching the coverable workers therein with the existing ESI Dispensary, Thalayuthu.

2.For the coverage of some more areas under the ESI Scheme, the Director of Medical and Rural Health Services has sent proposal for the upgradation of ESI Dispensary, Thalayuthu from 1 doctor type to 2 doctor type.

3.The Government with the recommendation of the Government of India accepted the proposal of the Director  of Medical and Rural Health Services and sanction the upgradation of 1 doctor type dispensary, Thalayuthu to 2 doctor type.

4.Sanction is also accorded for redeployment of the following post to the above ESI dispensary.

5. The Insured Persons and their family members shall be conveniently attached with the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital, Tirunelveli for specialist, In-patient Treatment, X-ray, Laboratory facilities etc as now applicable to ESI Dispensary, Thalayuthu.

6. The Government accord sanction for incurring the following recurring and non-recurring expenditure involved in this proposal..

7. The expenditure is debited to the  Head of account “2210 – Medical and Public Health – 01. Urban Health Services – Allopathy.102-ESI Scheme I Non-Plan-AG Expenditure of Employees State Insurance Scheme covering both the Insured Persons and their families – DPC 2210-01-102 AG 0003”.  It will be initially incurred by the State Government and fully reimbursed by the ESI Corporation, New Delhi for a period of three years from the date of implementation of the ESI Scheme in the above area and thereafter the expenditure shall be shared between the ESI Corporation and State Government in the agreed ratio of 7:1  within the overall ceiling.

8. The formal notification under Section 1(3) of the ESI Act,1948 fixing the date from which the Medical facilities shall be extended to the Inaured Persons and their families in the above area will be issued by the Government of India.  The Director of Medical and Rural Health Services(ESI) shall suggest immediately a suitable date for extension of the ESI Scheme to the above area, in consultation with the Regional Director, ESI Corporation, Chennai.

9. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.62152/L&E/2003-1 Dated:15.12.2003.
