ABSTRACT

ORDER

In the Government Order first read above, the employment in Construction of Pandals was included in Part I of the Schedule to the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 so as to enable the Government to fix minimum wages for the said employment. The Government have now decided to constitute a Committee under Section 5(1)(a) of the said Act to hold enquiries and advise them in the matter of fixation of minimum rates of wages for the said employment.

2. The appended Notification constituting the Committee will published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, both in English and Tamil. The Tamil Development Culture and Religious Endowments (Translation) Department, Secretariat, Chennai- 600 009 is requested to supply the Works Manager, Government Central Press, Chennai-79 with the Tamil Translation of the Notification.

3. The Committee shall be treated as a first class Committee for the purpose of T.A. and D.A. The Chairman of the Committee is authorised to countersign the T.A. bills of the non-official members of the Committee.

4. The expenditure on account of the T.A. shall be debited to the head of account "2230. Labour and Employment – 01. Labour – 001. Direction and administration – I. Non-Plan – AA. Headquarters Staff – Commissioner of Labour. 04 Travel Expenses – 01. tour Travelling Allowance".

5. The expenditure on account of the T.A. in respect of the Assistant Director, Office of Director of Economics and Statistics Department shall be debited to the following head of account.

"3554 – Census Surveys and Statistics – 02. Surveys and Statistics- 110. Gazetted and Statistical memories. I. Non-Plan – AE. Integrated scheme for Development of Statistics – 04. Travel Expenses – 01. tour Travelling Allowance."

6. The Chairman of the Committee is requested to take necessary action to submit the report of the Committee, to Government, within four months.
