ORDER
The Appended Notification will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette both in Tamil and English.
2. The Director, Tamil Development Culture (Translation) Department, Chennai-9 is requested to supply Tamil Translation of the Notification direct to the works Manager, Government Central Press, Chennai-600 079. The Works Manager, is requested to send 5 copies of the Notification to the Government for reference and record. He is also requested to send 2 copies of the Notification to the Commissioner of Labour, Chennai directly.

APPENDING
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 72 of the Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act, 1985 (Central Act 54 or 1985), the Governor of Tamil Nadu in supersession of the Notification No.SRO A/70/99, dated 9th August, 1999 published at Page 224 in Part III-Section 1(a) of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette dated the 8th September 1999, hereby makes the following amendment to the Tamil Nadu Standards of Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Rules, 1999, the draft of the same having been previously published as required under sub-section (4) of Section 72 of the said Act.
This shall come into force with effect from 1st April 2000.
AMENDMENT
In the said Rules,in Rule 14, in sub-rule (1), after the first proviso, the following proviso shall be inserted, namely:-
‘Provided further that weights including bullion and carat weights shall be re-verified and stamped once in a period of twenty four months”
