ORDER:

The Commissioner of Tourism has sent a proposal to Government for opening of 11New Tourist Information Centres outside Tamil nadu at a total cost of Rs.36.85 lakhs (Rupees Thirty Six lakhs and eighty five thousands only) for the year 2003-2004

2) After careful examination, the Government accept the proposal of the Commissioner of Tourism and sanction a sum of Rs.7.75 lakhs (Rupees Seven lakhs  and seventy five thousand only) for opening of 5 New Tourist Information Centres out side Tamil Nadu viz Ahmedabad, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Guwahati and Varanasi (Rs.1.55 lakhs for each centre Rs.1.55 X 5 = 7.75 lakhs).

3) The Commissioner of Tourism is requested to fill up the skeleton staff members for the Tourist Information Centre’s on redeployment basic and to incur only non recurring expenditure for this purpose.  The other expenditure like Rent, Telephone, Electricity and other office expenses would be borne by Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation ltd.

4) The amount sanctioned in para 2 above shall be debited to “3452 Tourism 80 General 001 – Direction and Administration-I. Non Plan –AB  Establishment of Information and publicity offices outside the State (DPC 3452 -80-001 AB 0526)”.

5) The Government permit the Commissioner of Tourism to draw and incur the expenditure.

6) The Commissioner of Tourism is requested to send the Completion Report and Utilisation certificate in this regard.

7) This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.o.No.41776 / 2003 dated 14-08-2003.
