ORDER :
In the Government of India’s letter 1st read above, guidelines for considering the proposals under ‘VAMBAY’ scheme have been formulated and communicated.
2. As per the guidelines of Government of India, the Chairman, Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board has now sent proposals for upgrading the existing tenements numbering 30514 at a cost of Rs.8.93 crores under ‘VAMBAY’ scheme. The Government have examined proposal. As this is one of the components included under “VAMBA” Scheme of Government of India and if sanctioned 50% of cost will be available as subsidy from Government of India, the Government have decided to accord administrative sanction for upgrading the 30514 slum tenements as proposed, at a total cost of Rs.8.93 Crores under “VAMBAY” Scheme. the funding pattern will be as follows:-
Project Cost Rs.893.06 lakhs
Government of India grant as per VAMBAY Scheme Rs.446.53 lakhs
State Government Contribution Rs.446.53 lakhs
(which will be obtained from HUDCO as loan to Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board )
3. The Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board is requested to take necessary action for obtaining loan from Housing and Urban Development Corporation for arranging counterpart funding for the project as per the Government of India guidelines under ‘VAMBAY’ Scheme. The orders for giving government guarantee for the Housing and Urban Development Corporation loan to be obtained will be issued separately by Finance Department.
4. This order issues with the concurrence of finance in its U.O.No.116/SS(K)/2002 dated 7.3.2002.
