ORDER:

In para 2(b) of the GO first read above, among the other terms and conditions stipulated for allotment of plots, it has been ordered that the allottee shall take action immediately to construct a building on the plot and shall complete it in all respects within eighteen months (or) atleast within three years as per the approved plan by the Local Planning Authorities concerned.

2.  The demand for the plots at present is very low and thousands of plots remain unsold. If the existing condition mentioned in para 1 regarding the completion of construction of house on the allotted plots is relaxed, for issue  of sale deed to all the categories of plots, the Tamilnadu Housing Board will be benefited and sales will be promoted to the maximum extent.

3. In order to alleviate the problems faced by the Tamilnadu Housing Board with reference to many unsold plots which curbs the revenue of it, the Managing Director, Tamilnadu Housing Board has sent necessary proposals to delete the condition issued in para 2 (b) of the GO cited.

4. The Government after careful consideration accept the proposal of the Managing Director, Tamilnadu Housing Board and direct that the condition issued in para 2 (b) of GO Ms. No. 1315, Housing and Urban Development Department, dated 20.08.1987 that “the allottee shall take action immediately to construct a building on the plot and shall complete it in all respect within eighteen months (or) atleast within three years as per the approved plan by the Local Planning Authorities” shall be deleted henceforth.
