ABSTRACT Prisons Department - Provision of Sanitary napkins – Amendment to rules 411 and 419 of the Tamil Nadu Prison Rules, 1983 – Orders – Issued. HOME (PRISON.V) DEPARTMENT G.O.Ms.No.962 READ: 1. G.O.Ms.No.731/Home (Pri.III), dated 22.08.2005. 2. From the Additional Director General of Prisons, Letter No.50123 / PW2 / 2005, dated 16.12.2005. ***** ORDER: The following Notification will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette:- NOTIFICATION In exercise of powers conferred by section 59 of the Prisons Act, 1894, (Central Act IX of 1894), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendments to the Tamil Nadu Prison Rules,1983. AMENDMENTS In the said Rules:- In rule 41, for the sentence "Female convicts shall also be supplied with four napkins each", the following sentence shall be substituted, namely:- "Every female prisoner shall also be supplied with six napkins of 9 inches in length and 3 inches in breadth, made of roll cotton and fibre cotton (blue) or of wibon cloth or of non-woven cloth or of sacknet Cloth and elastic belt of ¾ metre during normal menstruation period, that is, for every month and six napkins of 9 inches in length and 3 inches in breadth, made of roll cotton and white mull cloth and elastic belt of ¾ metre during the period after delivery". 2. In rule 419, in the tabular column, for the serial Number 7 in column (1) and the corresponding entries in columns (2), (3) and (4) thereof, the following shall respectively, be substituted, namely:- "7 Napkins as described in 6 one month".
