ORDER:

A sum of Rs. 6.2 crores has been allocated in the G.O.2nd & 3rd read above for the year 2006-2007 towards payment of compensation to the victims of road accidents under the Chief Minister’s Accident Relief Fund.

2. In the Budget provision during the year 2007-08, an amount of Rs.4,99,99,000/- has been allotted under the following head of Account:-

"2235-Social Security and Welfare-02 Social Welfare 800 other expenditure I Non Plan – AI – payment of Cash Relief to Traffic Accident Victims 51-Compensation 02. other Compensations.

3. The Transport Commissioner has stated that in order to release the funds to the District Collectors, Government orders authorized the Transport Commissioner to operate the scheme are necessary. He has therefore requested that orders may be issued for the allocation of fund to the District Collectors provided in the Budget Estimate 2007-2008 to meet out the requirements of the Collectors.

4. The Government accordingly direct that a sum of Rs. 4,99,99,000/- (Rupees four crores ninety nine lakhs and ninety nine thousand only) provided in Budget Estimate for 2007-2008 under the head of account "2235 Social Security and Welfare 02 Social Welfare 800 other expenditure I. Non - Plan AI Payment of Cash Relief to Traffic Accident Victims" - 51 Compensation- 02 other Compensations" (DPC No. 2235 – 02 -800 AI 5120) be transferred to the accounts of Transport Commissioner for distribution to the Collectors according to their requirements for the purposes of payment of compensation to the victims of road accidents under the Chief Minister’s Accident Relief.

5. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance vide its U.O.No. 34051/Home.I/07 dated 5.6.2007
