ORDER:

In the Government order read above, draft Notification has been issued to amend the Table under rule 132 of the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 for the revision of fees to be collected for allotment of advance registration numbers by the Government, inviting objections or suggestions from public, on the proposed amendment to the said Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 and the said draft amendment to the said Rules, has been published in the Home Notification No. SRO A/19(e)/2007 dated the 30^th May 2007 at pages 1-2 of Part III – Section 1(a) of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary dated the 30^th May 2007.

2) Only one representation has been received from the public on the above draft amendment published in the said Tamil Nadu Government Gazette. After consideration, the Government have decided to overrule the objection and to confirm the draft amendment to the Table under rule 132 of the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, published in the said Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary dated the 30^th May 2007. Accordingly, the following Notification will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 2.7.2007.

NOTIFICATION.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 65 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes the following amendment to the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 the same having been previously published, as required by sub-section (1) of section 212 of the said Act.

AMENDMENT.

In the said Rules, in the Table under rule 132, for the entries in sub item (a) against serial number 1, the following entries shall be substituted, namely :-

"(a) For advance registration number allotted by Government.-

(i) for the first four series, that is, Rs. 20,000/- 91(2) ..
    current series and next three series

(ii) from 5^th series to 8^th series Rs. 30,000/- 91(2) ..

(iii) for 9^th series and 10^th series Rs. 50,000/- 91(2) ..

(iv) for 11^th series and 12^th series Rs. 1,00,000/- 91(2) …".
