ORDER:

In G.O.Ms.No.1240 Home (Cinema-I) Department  dated 23.12.2006 orders have been issued for revision and refixation of rates of admission for Cinema Theatres within the maximum and minimum rates prescribed as detailed below with effect from 1.1.2007.

The existing orders which allow the licensee of  cinema theatres to charge rates without ceiling being fixed for a period of 2 weeks from the date of commencement of exhibition of new film in that theatre with due advance notice to the Licensing Authority and the Commercial Tax Authority have also been cancelled.

2. In continuation of the above orders, the Government now direct that if the licensees of Cinema Theatres desire to charge rates even below the maximum rates now fixed by the Government for any film for a specified period, they shall be allowed to do so with due advance notice to the Licensing Authority and the Commercial Tax Authority and with proper entry/endorsement made by the Licensing Authority in the ‘C’ form license.
