 ORDER: 

In the G.O. read above, the Government have accorded sanction for  a sum of Rs.30.00 lakhs for the purchase of Law Books and Law Journals for the Subordinate Courts other than High Court during the year 2001-2002.

2. The Registrar (O.S) High Court, Madras in his letter read above, has now requested the Government to accord  sanction for a sum of Rs.50 lakhs per annum  recurring for the purchase of Law Books and Law Journals for the courts Subordinate to the High Court, Madras every year.

3. The Government have examined the proposal of the Registrar (O.S.) High Court, Madras carefully and decided to sanction a sum of Rs.35.00 lakhs towards the  purchase of Law Books and  Law Journals  for the Courts Subordinate to the High Court, Madras during the year 2002-2003. 

4. Accordingly, the Government  accord sanction  for a sum not exceeding Rs.35.00 lakhs (Rupees thirty five lakhs only) towards the purchase of Law Books and Law Journals  for the Subordinate Courts other than  High Court during the year 2002-2003.

5. The expenditure sanctioned in para 5 above shall be debited to the Head of Account “2014.00. Administration of Justice – 105 – AB – Mofussil – Civil and Sessions Court – Regular Establishment – 68 – Cost of Books/Note Books/Slates etc.  “(D.P.C.No.2014 00 105 AB 6804)

6. Necessary funds will be provided in the Revised Estimate/Final Modified Appropriation 2002-2003.  Pending provision of funds in the Revised Estimate/Final Modified Appropriation 2002-2003, the Pay and Accounts Officer and the Treasury Officers concerned are requested to admit the bill presented by the Presiding Judicial Officers of Subordinate Courts.  The Registrar General, High Court, Madras is requested to send suitable proposals to the Government in Finance Department at the appropriate time for inclusion of this expenditure in the Revised Estimate/Final Modified Appropriation 2002-2003.

7. This orders issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O. No.72423/Finance (Home.II) dt.1.10.2002 and additional sanction Ledger No.606.
