ORDER:

In G.O. first read above administrative sanction has been accorded for a sum of Rs. 56.45 crores for the formation of High Court Bench at Ulaganeri village in Madurai District.   In G.O. second read above orders were issued to implement the whole project in two phases and administrative sanction accorded for a sum of Rs.36.86 crores for the Phase I and Chief Engineer (Buildings) Public Works Department has been requested to limit the expenditure within the budget provision made for 2001-2002 and that orders would be issued for Phase II separately.

2. In G.O. third read above, revised administrative sanction was accorded for Rs.44.8133 crores for the Phase I for the construction of building for the High Court bench at Madurai.  In the G.O. fourth read above further sanction for a sum of Rs.768.13 lakhs has been accorded for providing furniture, false ceiling, wall paneling, Air Conditioning and landscaping etc.  Out of the amount of Rs.768.13 lakhs Rs.346.13 lakhs has been allocated for the provision of furniture related items and this work has been entrusted to TANSI.  A total of Rs. 52.49 crores has so far been sanctioned for the project.

3) The Chief Engineer (Bldgs) Public Works Department has now sent a proposal for provision of additional amenities to the High Court Bench at Madurai at a rough cost estimate of Rs. 310.50 lakhs for the following works:-

4) The Government have examined the above proposal of the Chief Engineer (Buildings) carefully and have decided to accept the same.  The Government  accordingly accord sanction for incurring of an expenditure not exceeding Rs. 310.50 lakhs (Rupees three crores, ten lakhs and fifty thousand only) for the work mentioned in paragraph 3 above.

5) The expenditure shall be debited to the following Head of account:-

“4059 – Capital Outlay on Public Works – 60 – Other Buildings – 051 – Construction Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan – VI. Schemes shared between State and Centre – UB Administration of Justice – 16 Major Works (DPC No. 4059 – 60 – 051 – UB – 1609)”

6) The expenditure sanctioned in para 4 above shall be treated as “New Instrument of Services “ and necessary approval of the Legislature will be obtained in due course.  Pending approval of the Legislature this expenditure will be initially met by an advance from the Contigency Fund.  The Finance Department will issue necessary orders separately.  The Chief Engineer, Public Works Department (Buildings) Chennai is requested to apply in Form ‘A’ in duplicate to the Finance (B.G.I) Department for meeting the expenditure and for inclusion in supplementary estimates 2003-2004.

7) This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O.No. 25/DS (B.N)/ 2004 dt: 22.1.2004 and the additional sanction Ledger No. 1033.
