GOVERNMENT OF TAMILNADU ABSTRACT Police 49th All India Police Duty Meet held at Madhuban, Haryana from 2nd to 8th February, 2006 Sanction of cash awards to the Police personnel / officials for having won the Medals and Trophies Orders Issued. HOME (POLICE.VII) DEPARTMENT

O R D E R : In the letter read above, the Director General of Police has stated that the 49th All India Police Duty Meet was held at Madhuban, Haryana from 2nd to 8th February, 2006. In the Meet, 20 States and 8 Special Units participated in six events (Scientific Aids to Investigation (SAI), Computer Awareness, Dog Squad, Anti Sabotage Check, Videography and Professional Photography). In the Meet, the Tamil Nadu Police contingent has bagged the maximum number of medals comprising five Gold Medals besides 4 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals. The Tamil Nadu Police contingent has also bagged the highest number of Trophies - Two Winners Trophies (Computer Awareness and Professional Photography), one Runner up Trophy (Anti-Sabotage Check) and one Trophy for third position in Scientific Aids to Investigation. 2. He has further reported that as per G.O (Ms). No.1087 Home (Police VII) Department, dated 07.09.2004, the Government has fixed the quantum of cash reward as follows:- 1. Gold Medalist - Rs.50,000/- 2. Silver Medalist - Rs.30,000/- 3. Bronze Medalist - Rs.20,000/- (i) The Director General of Police has, therefore, requested the Government to sanction cash awards to the medal winners as per the above norms to the following police personnel and officials :- Medals
(ii) In G.O.Ms.No.1427, Home, dated 23.12.2004, the Government sanctioned the amount equivalent to Gold Medalist to the personnel who have won the Winners Trophy and equivalent to Silver Medal who have won Runners Up Trophy. The Director General of Police has now requested cash awards of Rs.20,000/- to third position as for Bronze Medal. The Director General of Police has, therefore, recommended the following cash awards to the trophy winners :- Trophies (i). Computer Awareness (Winner Trophy)
(ii) Professional Photography (Winner Trophy)
(iii) Anti Sabotage (Runner Trophy)
(iv) Scientific Aids to Investigation (Trophy for 3rd position)
(iii) He has further stated that the Tamil Nadu contingent has won the highest number of Gold Medals in the meet and highest number of trophies when compared to any other State in the country. In view of this, he has requested that cash awards may be sanctioned to the following officers who are responsible for the organization of the Tamil Nadu Contingent :-

The Director General of Police has, therefore, requested the Government to sanction a sum of Rs.10,20,000/- towards cash awards as detailed in paragraph 2 above pending provision of funds in the FMA 2005 -2006 to the Police Personnel / Officials for having won the medals and Trophies in the 49th All India Duty Meet. 4. After careful examination, the Government sanction a sum of Rs.10,20,000/- (Rupees ten lakh and twenty thousand only) as Cash Awards to the Police Personnel / Officials as detailed in paragraph 2 above for having won the medals and Trophies in the 49th All India Duty Meet held at Madhuban, Haryana from 2nd to 8th February, 2006 5. The expenditure sanctioned in paragraph 4 above shall be met under the following head of accounts :-
6. Necessary funds will be provided in FMA 2005-06 by re-appropriation of funds from the savings within the sub-head. Pending provision of such funds, the Director General of Police, Chennai-4 is authorized to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in paragraph 4 above, to the Police personnel / officials detailed in paragraph 2 above. The Director General of Police may also be requested to send the necessary proposal to Government in Finance Department in time for re-appropriation of funds within the sub-head for the year 2005-06. 7. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.ONo.14/DS(BK)/2006, dated 14.2.2006 and Additional Sanction Ledger No.1533. ( BY ORDER OF THE GOVERNOR )
