-------------- ORDER : The Additional Director General of Police, CBCID, Chennai in his letter read above, has stated that the 47th All India Police Duty Meet was held at Hyderabad from 11th to 15th June, 2004. Tamil Nadu Police team who participated in the said meet have won the one Gold, one Silver and 4 Bronze medals. In terms of the medal tally the team of Tamil Nadu Police was placed third position out of the 29 teams from 22 States, One Union Territory and 6 Central Police Organisations which participated in the meet. 2. The details of the medal winners are given below:-
He has reported that during last year, the Hon’ble Chief Minister was kind enough to award Rs.10,000/- for Gold Medal Winner, Rs.5,000/- for Silver Medal Winner and Rs.3,000/- for Bronze Medal Winner, as rewards to the Winners of Medals and requested to sanction the cash awards to the Police personnel and officials who won the medals in the above said meet to raise the morale of the Police Force and to encourage others in the Tamil Nadu Police Force. 3.
In recognition of the out standing achievements of the aforesaid police
personnel and official, the Government have decided to increase the existing
cash awards in order to provide better motivation besides bringing the quantum
of cash reward consonant with the achievement of the Sportspersons from 1. Gold Medallist - Rs.50,000/- 2. Silver Medallist - Rs.30,000/- 3. Bronze Medallist - Rs.20,000/- Accordingly, the Government sanction cash award to the police personnel as detailed below:-
(Rupees one lakh and sixty thousand only) 4. The Director General of Police, Chennai is authorized to draw and disburse the cash award sanctioned in para 3 above to the aforesaid police personnel. 5. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-
