From the Chief Engineer (General) Highways Letter No.12972/Thittam2/2006 dated 23.8.2006 and 20.10.2006, 15.11.06. --------- ORDER: Under CRIDP for 2005-2006 improvement to road net work at a cost of Rs.820 crores covering a total road length of around 6700 Kms was sanctioned in the G.O. first read above. 2. The Chief Engineer (Gl) has stated that it is essential to continue the efforts to improve the road network in the State and make it one of the best in the country with well-built infrastructure. Hon’ble Minister for Highways has announced on the floor of the Legislative Assembly that all the single lane State Highways will be widened to two lane in a phased manner. Accordingly, in the letter second read above the Chief Engineer (General) has submitted proposals for widening strengthening and improvement of the roads under three categories namely, State Highways, Major District Roads and Other District Roads under Comprehensive Road Infrastructure Development Programme (CRIDP) 2006-07 at an estimated cost of Rs.722.400 crores against the Budget provision available for the year as detailed below:-
3. The Government have examined the proposal of the Chief Engineer (General) Highways and have decided to approve the proposal. Accordingly the Government accord administrative sanction for improvement of State Highways, Major District Roads and Other District Roads at a total cost of Rs.722.40 crores (Rupees seven hundred and twenty two crores and forty lakhs only) under the Comprehensive Road Infrastructure Development Programme for the year 2006-07 as per outlay indicated in para 2 above. The details of the works are annexed to this order. 4. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to the following heads of account: (i) State Highways:- 5054-Capital Outlay on Roads and Bridges - 03.State Highways - 337 - Road Works - Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan – II State Plan - JI. Comprehensive Road Development Programme - State Highways - 16. Major Works (DP code 5054-03-337-JI-1602) (ii) Major District Road:- 5054 - Capital Out lay on Roads and Bridges- 04 District and Other Roads - 337 Road Works -Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan – II. State-Plan JT. Comprehensive Road Development Programme - Major District Roads - 16. Major Works (DP code 5054-04-337-JT-1609) (iii) Other District Roads:- 5054 - Capital Out lay on Roads and Bridges- 04 District and Other Roads - 337 Road Works -Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan-II State Plan - JU. Comprehensive Road Development Programme - Other District Roads - 16. Major Works (DP code 5054-04-337-JU-1607) 5. The Chief Engineer (General) is directed to take up the works early and furnish monthly progress report to Government. He is also requested to ensure that the works sanctioned now are not included in any other schemes. 6.This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.
