Highways (HW.1) Department G.O.Ms.No.190 Dated 15.10.2001 Read: (1) From the Chief General Manager, NABARD, Mumbai, Lr.No.NB/SPD/RIDF/VII/TN/ 45/PSC/ 2002-2002, dated 22.6.2001. (2) From the Chief Engineer(H) Rural Roads, Letter No.13150/2000/P1, dated 3.7.2001. ----- ORDER: In the reference second read above, the Chief Engineer(Highways), Rural Roads, Chennai has sent proposals for improving Rural Roads to Other District Roads standard under Rural Roads, Special Component Plan and Bus Route Improvement Scheme with Loan Assistance from NABARD under RIDF VII Project XII (Rural Roads). The proposal of the Chief Engineer (Highways) Rural Roads envisages improvements of 807.30 kms. of Rural Roads to Other District Roads standard and 11 bridges work at a total cost of Rs.119.60 crores (Rupees one hundred and nineteen crores and sixty lakhs only). The above proposal was forwarded to the NABARD for loan assistance. 2. The NABARD in their letter first read above have sanctioned 257 Road works and 11 bridges work (Total 268) for improvement of 807.30 kms. of Rural Roads to Other District Roads standard at a total cost of Rs.119.60 crores (Rupees one hundred and nineteen crores and sixty lakhs only). Out of this, the Government contribution would be Rs.11.96 crores (Rupees eleven crores and ninety six lakhs only). and the share of NABARD as loan assistance would be Rs.107.64 crores) (Rupees one hundred and seven crores and sixty four lakhs only). The Chief Engineer(Highways), Rural Roads has requested for administrative sanction. 3. The Government have carefully examined the proposal of the Chief Engineer (Highways), Rural Roads, Chennai in the light of sanction accorded by NABARD as in para 2 above, and accord administrative sanction for 268 works (257 Roads and 11 bridges) as detailed in Annexure to this order at a total cost of Rs.119.60 crores (Rupees one hundred and nineteen crores and sixty lakhs only). Out of which the Government contribution would be Rs.11.96 crores (Rupees eleven crores and ninety six lakhs only) and the share of NABARD would be Rs.107.64 crores (Rupees one hundred and seven crores and sixty four lakhs only) as loan assistance. 4. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to be following heads of account:

The Chief Engineer (Highways), Rural Roads, Chennai is requested to execute the works sanctioned in para 3 above utilising the provisions made by NABARD and the Government as their shares in full and complete the Roads and bridge works within the time limit prescribed by NABARD. 6.
