ORDER: The Government have been examining proposals to start new Government Medical Colleges to meet the growing demands of meritorious students for Professional Medical Courses. The Government after detailed examination with particular reference to the need for setting up of new Government Medical Colleges and keeping in view of the financial requirements to start new Medical Colleges, have decided to start a new Government Medical College at Vellore during 2000-2001. 2. The Government accordingly direct that a new Government Medical College be established at Vellore during 2000-2001. 3. The Government direct the Director of Medical Education to take immediate action for the establishment of the new Government Medical College at Vellore during 2000 – 2001. 4. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O. No. 2396/FS/P/2000 Dated 25-7-2000. (BY ORDER OF THE GOVERNOR)
