Order:

1. In the G.O. read above, orders were issued for starting of a paying Maternity Ward in the Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Government Hospital for Women and Children, chennai and charges were fixed for the various services to be rendered to the patients in the above special class maternity ward.

2. The Director, Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Government Hospital for Women and Children, Chennai has stated that charges has not been fixed for the patients staying in the single rooms and therefore she has suggested charges for the different services to the patients staying in the single room. She has also suggested for providing of certain additional services in the above paying maternity ward. She has sent proposals for the collection of room rent for the staying in the ward beyond the stipulated number of days.

3. The Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation, Chennai in his letter 3rd read above has stated that the Director has been requested to proceed with the collection of charges for various services rendered including room rent in anticipation of Government approval and that the action may be ratified.

4. The Government after careful examination have decided to accept the proposal and accordingly issue the following orders:-

i) The following charges are fixed to the patients staying in the single room for the different services noted below:-

ii) Following additional services are provided in the paying maternity ward in Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Government Hospital for Women and Children, Chennai at the rates indicated below :

5.  Government accept the recommendation of the Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation and ratify the action of the Director & Superintendent, Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Government Hospital for Women and Children, Chennai in having proceeded with the collection of charges from patients for various services as indicated in the para 4 above in anticipation of Government approval.
