ORDER:

Orders have been issued in the reference third read above sanctioning the annual grant of Rs. 7.5 lakhs from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund to the Cancer Institute (WIA), Adayar, Chennai for the year 2000-2001. The Executive Chairman, Cancer Institute, Adayar, Chennai in his letters fourth read above has requested to sanction the grant from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund for the years 2001-2002, 2002-2003 and 2003-2004.

2. The Government have examined the request of the Cancer Institute Adyar, Chennai and accord sanction for a sum of Rs. 22,50,000/- (Rupees Twenty two lakhs and fifty thousand only) from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund towards the payment of annual grant for three years, i.e., 2001-2002, 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 at the rate of Rs. 7.5 lakhs for each year for undertaking free cancer drug treatment subject to the condition that the Institute should give free treatment to the persons below poverty line and send to Government a list of persons to whom such free treatments are given and that it should be fully utilized for the treatment of the poor persons.

3. The Joint Secretary to Government, Finance Department and Treasurer, Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund is requested to draw a cheque for a sum of Rs. 22.50 lakhs (Rupees Twenty two lakhs and fifty thousand only) from the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund in favour of the Executive Chairman, Cancer Institute (WIA), Adayar, Chennai and to send the same under proper acknowledgement.

4. The utilization of the annual grant sanctioned in Paragraph-2 above shall be subject to the guidelines formulated in G.O. MS. No. 679, Health, Dated 3.5.1991 also.

5. This order issues with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide its U.O. No. 63/JS(KG)/0, Dated: 05.02.2004.
