APPENDIX

NOTIFICATION - I

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Smoking and spitting Act, 2002 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 2003) the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby appoints the 14th day of May, 2003, as the date on which the said Act shall come into force.

NOTIFICATION - II

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 10 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Smoking and Spitting Act 2002 (Tamil Nadu Act 4 of 2003), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby authorizes the following persons who shall be competent to act under this Act, namely:-

1. Dean of Medical College,

2. Joint Director of Health Services,

3. Deputy Director of Health Services,

4. Health Officer,

5. Municipal Health Officer,

6. Medical Superintendent of Hospital,

7. Resident Medical Officer,

8. Principal of College,

9. Chief Educational Officer,

10. District Educational Officer,

11. Assistant Educational Officer,

12. Head Master of High School and Higher

Secondary School

13. Block Development Officer,

14. Medical Officer of Primary health Centre

15. Sanitary Officer

16. Sanitary Inspector

17. Block Health Supervisor

18. Community Health Nurse

19. Sector Health Nurse,

20. Health Inspector Grade L1-B and II

21. Village Health Nurse

22. Tahsildar

23. Revenue Inspector

24. Village Administrative Officer and

25. Police Officer not below the rank of a Sub Inspector of Police.
