Government have considered the question of presentation of award to the best performing Doctors, Nurses and Para Medical personnel etc., working in the Department of Health and Family Welfare Department. Accordingly orders were issued in the G.O. first read above for the presentation of awards to the best performing Doctors, Nurses, Para-Medical personnel etc., working in the Department of Health and Family Welfare under the Directorates of Medical Education, Medical and Rural Health Services, Public Health and Preventive medicine and Indian Medicine and Homeopathy. Further Rolling Shield will be given to the best institution.

2. The Heads of Departments, viz., Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Director of Medical Education, Director of Medical and Rural Health Services, Commissioner of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy, have submitted list of candidates for awards with their recommendations based on the recommendations of the District level committees. Based on the selection made by the respective Directors, the State Level Committee have selected the personnel and identified the best institutions for presentation of award for the year 2002-2003.

3. Accordingly, the Government approve the names of 13 (Thirteen) personnel viz., Doctors, Nurses, Para-Medical Personnel mentioned in the Annexure to this order for presentation of award for the year 2002-2003.

4. The Government also direct that Rolling Shield shall be given to the Best Institutions mentioned below:-

i) Primary Health Centre, Uppiliapuram

ii) Government Hospital, Athur and

iii) Government District Headquarters Hospital, Erode.

5.The Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, who is the Member Secretary of the State Level Committee is requested to organize the Award function and for the presentation awards to the personnel and best institution mentioned in Para 3 and 4 above.
