**** ORDER: Sub Project Component of the Reproductive and Child Health Project provides, funds for carrying out Major and Minor Civil Works in the Health Sub Centres, Primary Health Centres and First Referral Unit in the Sub Project areas of Madurai and Theni Districts. The Joint Director of Health Services and Deputy Director of Health Services of Madurai and Theni Districts have represented for more funds to carryout repairs in the Health Sub Centres, Primary Health Centres and First Referral Unit as the repair works were identified 5 years back and now more health facilities need repairs. If the Health Sub Centres are repaired the Village Health Nurses would stay in the Health Sub Centres and conduct more deliveries. If the repairs in the First Referral Units and Primary Health Centres are carried out, the quality of Health Services to poor will improve. 2. The Project Director, Reproductive and Child Health Project has therefore requested Government permission to carryout the Civil works / Repairs in the Health Sub Centres. Primary Health Centres and First Referral Units in the Sub Project Districts of Madurai and Theni at a cost of Rs.11.45 lakhs, which being the saving from the allotment made for purchase of vehicle. The Government of India in the letter second read above permitted to utilize the savings for carrying out Civil Works. 3. The Government, after careful examination permit the Project Director, Reproductive and Child Health to incur an expenditure of Rs.11.45 lakhs (Rupees Eleven Lakhs and Forty Five Thousand only) for carrying out Civil Works in Health Sub Centres, Primary Health Centres and First Referral Units in the Sub Project Districts of Madurai and Theni and to entrust these Civil works to Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation. 4. The Project Director, Reproductive and Child Health Project is permitted to draw the entire amount of Rs.11.45 lakhs pending provision in Re/FMA 2003-04 as advance and deposit the amount by transfer credit in the P.D account of Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation for carrying out the Civil Works in Health Sub Centres, Primary Health Centres and First Referral Units in Madurai and Theni Districts. The Project Director, Reproductive and Child Health Project is requested to include this expenditure in the Revised Estimate / Final Modified Appropriation 2003-2004 at the appropriate time. 5. The expenditure sanctioned in para 4 above shall be debited to the following head of account:- 2211-00-Family Welfare – 103. Maternity & Child Health – Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan-III Centrally Sponsored-SF District / sub Project – RCHP 17. Minor Works. D.P.Code No.221100-103-SF17. 6. This order issues with the concurrence of Executive Committee for Reproductive and Child Health Project constituted in G.O.4D No.9, Health, dated 1/4/1997 and Finance Department vide its U.O.No.152/JS(SG)/03, dated 17/10/2003 and Additional Sanction ledger No.604.
