Government of Tamil Nadu ABSTRACT Medical institutions – Privatisation of areas Security, Catering and Sanitation in Government Hospitals – Orders – Issued. HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE DEPARTMENT G.O. (Ms.) No.4 ORDER: In order to enable the Government Hospitals to have more efficiency and economical administration, the Government desired that the areas like Security, Catering and Sanitation in the long run need to be out-sourced. 2) Accordingly, the Government have decided to entrust the areas of Security, catering and Sanitation in Government Hospitals with work contract under Private Agencies instead of engaging personnel to work on contract basis. 3) The Director of Medical Education; Director of Medical and Rural Health Services and Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine are, therefore, directed to resort to engaging of personnel under work contract in Government Hospitals through Private Agencies instead of engaging personnel to work on contract basis, subject to the following conditions:- 1) The regular staff and contract employees should not be posted for work in the same building and instead, they should be posted in the separate building. 2) The regular vacant posts should not be filled up even on compassionate grounds without prior permission of the Government. 3) While implementing this scheme, care should be taken to protect the service the right of the Government employees already in service. 4) The Director of Medical Education, Director of Medical and Rural Health Services and Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine are also requested to issue suitable Institutions instructed to the heads of Medical/under their control to carry out the orders of Government in para 3 above. 5) This order issues with the concurrence of Finance; Labour and Employment; and Personnel and Administrative Reforms Departments vide their U.O. No.2214 / Fs/ P/ @001, Dated 6.8.2001: U.O. No.35418 / N.1 / 2001, dated 10.12.2001 and U.O. No.63042 / C / 2001-1, dated 21.11.2001 respectively. (By order of the Governor)
