Medical Education – Creation of awareness Detection and Treatment of Diabetes in the Health System – Formation of High Level Committee – Orders – Issued Health and Family Welfare Department

Order: 1. The Diabetes Association of India, Southern Chapter, Chennai brought to the notice of Government about the increasing incidence of Diabetes in the country and requested the Government to form a High Level Committee to chalk out the Methodology for creating more awareness of Diabetes. The Director of Medical Education has endorsed the views of the above Association and suggested the constitution of a High Level Committee. The Government have examined the proposal of the Director of Medical Education carefully and accordingly constitute a High Level Committee under the Chairmanship of Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department with the following Members: Secretary to Government Health and Family : Chairman Welfare Department
Director of Medical Education : Convener – Member Director of Medical and Rural Health Services : Member Director of Public Health and Preventive Medicine : Member Two Representatives from Diabetes Association of India, : Members Southern Chapter, Chennai.
2. The Director of Medical Education is requested to get the names of the Representatives to act as Members of the Committee under the Chairman, Diabetes Association of India, Southern Chapter, Chennai and sent it to Government.
