From the Director of Medical Education Letter. No. 5255 / P&D3 / 2004 dated 22.1.2004.

In the circumstances reported by the Director of Medical Education, in her letter read above, the Government permit the Director of Medical Education to accept donation viz, equipments, consumables and furniture from the World Diabetes Foundation, Denmark, to the value of Rs. 15/- Lakhs (Rupees Fifteen Lakhs only) through the Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation Limited to start a "Diabetic Foot Clinic" in Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, Chennai, to prevent Ulcers and Amputations among the Diabetics. The Director of Medical Education, is permitted to collect a sum of Rs. 20/- (RS. Twenty only) from the patients attending the Outpatient Foot Clinic and to utilize the above amount for maintenance of the Foot Clinic, equipments and for the salary of the Nurses and Cobblers to be appointed on contract basis to the clinic. The administrative work and the data entry shall be done by employing Juvenile Diabetic Graduate patients without any expenditure to the State Government.

2. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O. No. 310 / FS / P / 2004 dated 28.1.2004.
