Family Welfare -Insurance Scheme - Continuance of Group Insurance Scheme for mothers undergoing sterilisation operations beyond 30.4.2002 - Permission to Director of Family Welfare to incur expenditure - Orders - Issued.

In the G.O.first read above, among other things, Group Insurance Scheme was introduced for mothers who undergo sterilisation in the Government Hospitals/Local Bodies/Voluntary Organisations and approved Nursing Homes on experimental basis for a period of one year from 1.2.2001 onwards from State Funds.

2. In the G.O. second read above orders were issued for the continuance of the scheme for three months beyond 31.1.2002.

3. In the G.O. third read above, orders have been issued for the continuance of the above scheme beyond 30.4.2002.

4.The Director of Family Welfare has requested the Government to sanction a sum of Rs.73,78,700/- towards the payment of Insurance Premium for the mothers undergoing Sterilisation Operation during the period from 1.5.2002 to 30.4.2003. The details of amount to be paid to the National Insurance Company towards Insurance Premium and for recoupment to the Tamil Nadu Family Welfare Miscellaneous Purpose Fund for the period from February 2003 to April 2003 are as follows:

5. The Government after careful examination sanction a sum of Rs.59,19,018/- to be recouped to Tamil Nadu Family Welfare Miscellaneous Purpose Fund for the period from 1.2.2001 to 31.7.2001 and 1.5.2002 to 31.10.2002 and for paying premium of Rs. 14,59,682/- to the National Insurance Company for the number of cases to be covered for the period from February 2003 to April 2003.

6. The expenditure sanctioned in para 5 above shall be debited to the following Head of Account:

2211-00 - Family Welfare - 105 Compensation Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan - II State Plan - JA Expenditure met by the State Government over and above the rates prescribed by the Government of India on Tubectomy -10 contribution - 02 Insurance Premium. (DPC.No.2211- 00 105-JA 1027)

7. The Director of Family Welfare is requested to pay Rs.14,59,682 /- ( Rupees Fourteen lakhs fifty nine thousand six hundred and eighthty two only) to National Insurance Company towards insurance premium and to recoup an amount of Rs.59,19,018/- (Rupees Fifteen nine lakhs Ninteen thousand and eighteen only) towards Tamil Nadu Family Welfare Miscellaneous Purpose Fund for the premium already paid to National Insurance Company from the fund.

8.. Necessary funds will be provided in RE/FMA 2002-2003. The Director of Family Welfare may be requested to send necessary proposal for inclusion in RE/FMA 2002-2003. This will be brought to the notice of the Legislature by specific inclusion in the Final supplementary estimates 2002-2003.

9. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O. No.92529/Health/2002 dated 8.1.2003 and additional sanction Ledger
No. 1113 .
