The Government in the order first read above had constituted a fund called, "Tamil Nadu Government Employees Health Fund" to provide a measure of relief to Government Employees, if they are affected by major ailments. Accordingly, the Government in the order fifth and seventh read above had approved certain specialized advanced surgeries / treatments and accredited certain private hospitals in which the specialized advanced surgeries / treatments should be undertaken under the scheme. According to Government letter third read above Government employee should undergo the specialized advanced surgeries / treatment in the accredited private hospital to avail the maximum financial assistance under this scheme.

2. As per the guidelines issued in the Government order fourth read above, Director of Medical Education and Director of Medical and Rural Health Services have recommended for accreditation of more private hospitals and for inclusion of more specialised advanced surgeries / treatments under the scheme.

3. The Government, after careful examination of the above recommendations, have decided to include more number of new private hospitals and also to include additional ailments under Tamil Nadu Government Employees Health Fund Scheme.

Accordingly the Government pass the following orders:-

(i) The specialized surgery / treatment which were earlier approved in the orders fifth and seventh read above are indicated in Schedule-I under Annexure-I of this order.

(ii) The advanced surgery / treatment now approved with effect from 1.4.2005 are indicated in Schedule-II under Annexure-I of this order.

(iii) The Private Hospitals which were earlier approved in the order fifth read above are shown in Schedule-I under Annexure-II .

(iv) The Private Hospitals which are now approved with effect from 1.4.2005 are shown in Schedule-II under Annexure-II of this order.

4. There shall be no change in other existing rules and conditions.

5. The sanctioning authorities empowered to sanction financial assistance under this scheme are requested to quote the correct name of the specialized advanced surgery / treatment as in the approved list and the correct name of the private hospital with its serial number in their proceedings for expeditious settlement of claims.
