ORDER:

According to sub-section (1) of Section 5 of the Tamil Nadu Tax on Consumption or Sale of Electricity Act, 2003 every person, other than a licensee or the State Government who has installed or proposed to install a generating plant for generation of electricity for his own consumption, shall register his name with such officer as the Government may appoint, in this behalf.  The Government have decided to appoint the Electricity Tax Inspecting Officers holding the post of Electrical Inspectors as the Registration Officers for the purpose of the said Act.

The following Notification will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Extra-Ordinary Gazette dated the 16th June 2003.

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5 of the Tamil Nadu Tax on Consumption or Sale of Electricity Act, 2003 (Tamil Nadu Act 12 of 2003), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby appoints the Electricity Tax Inspecting Officers holding the post of Electrical Inspectors as Officers for the purpose of Registration.
