ORDER:

According to sub-section (1) of section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Tax on Consumption or Sale of Electricity Act, 2003 (Tamil Nadu Act 12 of 2003), Electricity Tax Inspecting Officers are to be appointed by the Government to inspect the prescribed books of accounts kept under section 8 and also to exercise the powers and functions prescribed under sub section (1) of section 13 of the said Act.  The Chief Electrical Inspector to Government has requested that the holders of the post of Chief Electrical Inspector to Government, the Senior Electrical Inspector, Chennai and Coimbatore and the holders of the posts of Electrical Inspectors and the Chief Accountants and Superintendents may be appointed as Electricity Tax Inspecting Officers, for the purpose of section 8 and section 13(1) of the said Act.

2. The following Notification will be published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extra ordinary dated the 16th June 2003.

NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 12 of the Tamil Nadu Tax on Consumption or Sale of Electricity Act, 2003 (Tamil Nadu Act 12 of 2003), the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby appoints the holders of the post of Chief Electrical Inspector to Government, Senior Electrical Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Chief Accountants, Superintendents of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Inspectorate Department as Electricity Tax Inspecting Officers.
