ORDER
In the G.O. first read above orders were issued constituting the State Electricity Regulatory Commission with the following Members.
- (i) Thiru K. Venkatesan, IAS., (Retd) Chairman
(ii) Thiru M.G. Devasahayam IAS., (Retd). Member
(iii) Thiru E.C. Arunachalam, Chief Engineer Member
(T.N.E.B.)(Retd).
2. Thiru K. Venkatesan and Thiru M.G. Devasahayam, did not assume office. Thiru E.C. Arunachalam alone assumed office and now acting as Member. In the Government order second read above orders were issued appointing Thiru. D.S. Hanumantha Rao as Member of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission in the place of Thiru M.G. Devasahayam. He assumed office on 22.9.1999 and retired on 5.6.2001. Now, the Chairman post and one Member post are vacant in the Regulatory Commission. In order to fill up these vacancies, the Government in their order third read above constituted a selection committee to select and recommend a panel of names for the said vacant posts. The selection committee has subsequently recommended a panel of names. The Government have carefully examined the recommendation of the Selection Committee and decided to appoint the following persons as Chairman and Member of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
(i) Thiru A. Balraj, IAS., (Retd) Chairman
(ii) Thiru S. Thangarathnam, M.Com. AICWA
Chief Financial Controller / T.N.E.B (Retd.) Member
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section (6) of Section 17 of the Electricity Regulatory Commissions Act 1998 (Central Act 14 of 1998) and on the recommendation of the selection committee referred to in section 18 of the said Act, the Governor of Tamil Nadu here, by appoints the following members for the Tamil Nadu State Electricity Regulatory Commission, namely:-
- (iii) Thiru A. Balraj, IAS., (Retd) Chairman
(iv) Thiru S. Thangarathnam, M.Com. AICWA
