ORDER :
In the G.O. first read above, orders were issued sanctioning a scheme of electrification of 150 numbers of remote habitations (not connected with the grid) using Solar Photovoltaic devices at a total cost of Rs. 15.00 crores. The Central Financial Assistance at 90% of this total cost is awaited from Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources, Government of India.
2. In the meanwhile, the Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency, has proposed to Government for approval of the scheme of electrification of balance of about 250 habitations as phase II during 2003-2004 itself with 90% Central Financial Assistance from Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources, Government of India. The total cost of the scheme is worked to be Rs. 17.50 crores and out of this the Central Financial Assistance at 90% works out Rs. 15.00 crores and the State Government share is Rs. 2.50 crores.
3. The Government after careful examination accept the proposal of the Chairman and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency, and accord administrative sanction for the scheme of Electrification of 250 numbers of remote habitations not connected with grid using Solar Photovoltaic devices at a total cost of Rs. 17.50 crores with 90% Central Financial Assistance (Rs. 15.00 crores) and the balance 10% of Rs. 2.50 crores from the State share.
4. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O. No. 16409 / PW II / 2004 dt.9.3.2004.
