Sub:   Electricity - Review of Additional Current Consumption Deposit in respect of Low  Tension Industrial Services - Regarding. 

Ref:   

1. Representation dt.10.7.2001 from the Tamil Nadu  Small and Tiny Industries Association through Hon'ble Minister for Electricity.

I am directed to invite your kind attention to the references cited.  The Government  after careful examination of the proposal of the Chairman, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board  hereby accord concurrence to the following proposals of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board in connection with the Review of Additional Current Consumption Deposit in respect of Low Tension Industrial Services as follows:- 

i)  The Additional Current Consumption Deposit shall be calculated taking in to account the minimum current consumption deposit of Rs.300 per H.P. instead of Rs.800 per H.P.  OR three months current consumption charges based on previous 12 months average, whichever is higher in respect of Low Tension Industrial Consumers who availed service connection before 1.11.1999. 

ii)   The excess current consumption deposit collected from the Low Tension industrial consumers based on Rs.800 per H.P. from the consumers who have availed service connection prior to 1.11.1999 may be refunded to the consumers by way of adjustment in future current consumption bills. 

iii) The review of adequacy of current consumption deposit for Low Tension Industrial Consumers shall be made every year during April / May instead of once in five years.
