FORESTS - Tamil Nadu Forest Subordinate Service - Reservation of Appointment - 10% Reservation to Sportsman -Orders - Issued. ENVIRONMENT AND FOREST (FR.2)DEPARTMENT

Government Lr.No.11079/Police-V/95-1, Home Department, dated 12.12.95 Read also: From the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Lr.No.tc.4/9280/2001, dated 8.3.2001. ------ ORDER: In the Government order first read above, the Government have ordered that Reservation of 10% will be made to outstanding Sports persons in direct recruitment for the post of Police Constable Grade-II, Sub-Inspector of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police and also issued certain clarification in this regard in the Government letter second read above. 2. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests has submitted the proposal for making reservation of 10% for Sports Persons in respect of direct recruitment to the post of Foresters, Forest Guards, Forest Watchers and Drivers in the Tamil Nadu Forest Subordinate Service on horizontal basis, similar to 10% reservation ordered in G.O.Ms.No.1072, Home Department, dt. 18.7.95. 3. The Government have carefully examined the proposal of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and have decided to accept it. (i) Reservation to the extent of 10% will be made on horizontal basis for outstanding Sports Persons who have represented the State at Senior or Junior levels during last 3 years or who have represented the Universities or those who have represented the Country in recognised national / International Competition and won top places, in direct recruitment to the following posts in the Forest Department.
In respect of the post of Forester, there is no direct recruitment at present. If the direct recruitment at present. If the direct recruitment is restored, this order will be implemented for the post of Forester also. (ii) The Reservation will be on horizontal, basis i.e. within each category of reservation viz. SC/ST., MBC, BC and Open Competition. (iii) The Selection of 10% shall be made at the level of District Forest Officer/Conservator of Forests. 4. The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests is requested to send necessary proposals to Government for amending the relevant Special Rules/Service Rules consequent on the issue of these orders.
