(Published as Notification No. II(1)/CT/30(a-1)/2003, published at page 1 of Part II - Section 1 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 29th May 2003) NOTIFICATION (G.O.Ms.No.59, Commercial Taxes (B2) Department, Dated 12-6-2003) In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (3) of section 17 of the Tamil Nadu General Sales Tax Act, 1959 (Tamil Nadu Act 1 of 1959), and in supersession of the Commercial Taxes Department Notification No.II(1)/CT/30(a-1)/2003, published at page 1 of Part II - Section 1 of the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 29th May 2003, the Governor of Tamil Nadu hereby makes a reduction in the rate of tax to two percent in respect of tax payable by any dealer under the said Act on the sale of Starch and Sago through the Salem District Starch and Sago Manufacturers Service Industrial Co-operative Society Limited, Salem. (SAGO SERVE). 2. The Notification shall be deemed to have come into force on the 7th May 2003. P.R. BINDHUMADHAVAN EXPLANATORY NOTE (This does not form part of the Notification but it is intended to indicate the general purport) Based on the announcement made by the Hon'ble Minister (Rural Industries) on 7.5.2003, the Government have issued notification under Section 17 of the Tamil Nadu General Sales Tax Act, 1959 for 1. reduction in the rate of tax to two percent in respect of tax payable by any dealer under the said Act on the sale of Starch and Sago through Salem District Starch and Sago Manufacturers Service Industrial Co-operative Society Limited, Salem (SAGO SERVE). 2. The above notification is intended to achieve the above object. P.R.
