ORDER

In the Government Order  first read above, the Government sanctioned the pilot scheme of selling non-judicial stamps in Registration offices to the value of Rs.5,000 and in the Government Order  second fourth and fifth read above, this ceiling was enhanced to Rs.10,000, Rs.20,000 and Rs.30,000 respectively.

2. The Inspector General of Registration in his letter sixth read above has now  proposed to revise the above ceiling as follows:

Sub-Registrar Offices

Upto Rs.60000/- (Adhesive stamps upto Rs.10000)

Sub-Registrar Offices upgraded to the cadre of District Registrar Offices

Rs.1,00,000/- (Adhesive stamps upto Rs.10,000/-)

Original Records Branch in the District Registrar Offices

Rs.1,50,000/- (Adhesive stamps upto Rs.10,000)

 

The Inspector General of Registration has stated that this will help to  control the practice of creating artificial scarcity of stamps by the stamp vendors. Further this will also reduce the expenses to Government by way of commission to stamp vendors.

3. The Government after careful examination of the proposal of IGR, direct that the ceiling of stock of non-judicial stamps in Sub-Registrar Offices may be increased by raising the monetary limit for the supply of stamps by the Treasury to the Registration offices as shown below:-

The Government also direct that the Treasury Officers should ensure regular supply of stamps to the Registration Offices on indent, as per the revised monetary limits.

4. The Inspector General of Registration and Commissioner for Treasuries and Accounts are requested to follow other instructions specified in G.O.Ms.No.2, CT&RE, dated 2.1.1982.

5. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.87736/Revenue/02, dated 18/12/2002.
