 Most Backward Classes Welfare - Acquisition of land to provide house sites to Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities, Backward Classes and Forward Classes - Orders issued.

 ORDER:

             In the Government Order first read above, Government have ordered for the provision of house sites to the poor persons belonging to Oddars, Narikoravars, Barbers and Dhobies who do not possess house sites of their own, free of cost by acquiring patta lands, at the rate of 3 cents per house site per individual at a total cost of Rs.15/- lakhs during the year 1981-82.

             2)  In the G.O. second read above the Government extended the scheme to all communities of the Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities who do not possess house sites of their own at a total cost of Rs.1 crore during the year 1990-91.  The  Most Backward Classes / Denotified  Communities whose annual income do not exceed Rs.12,000/- are eligible for provision of house sites under the scheme.  In the G.O. third read above, the budget provision has been enhanced to Rs.2 crores for the year 1996-97.

 `           3)  The Government have now decided to extend the scheme to all the communities of Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Denotified Communities and Forward Classes who live in the villages below poverty line and to enhance the Budget provision of Rs.10 crores to Most Backward Classes, Rs.5.00 crores for Backward Classes and Rs.3.00 crores for Forward Classes during 1997-98.

             4) The Government accordingly direct that the scheme of provision of house sites to Most Backward Classes/Denotified Communities be extended to all Backward Classes/Forward Classes also who live below the poverty line in the villages.  The allotment for this revised scheme during the year 1997-98 will be as follows:-

1.

Most Backward Classes/DenotifiedCommunities.

Rs.10 crores.
2. Backward Classes     Rs. 5 Crores.
3.   Forward Classes        Rs.3 Crores.

               5)  The expenditure sanctioned in para 4 above will be debited to "2225 Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes - 03.Welfare of Backward Classes - 283. Housing Schemes in the Ninth Five Year Plan - State Plan - JB House sites for Narikoravars, Oddars, Navidars and Vannars - 64. Lands (VOTED) (D.P.code No.2225 03 283 JB 76409).

             6)  This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O. No.1177/FS/F/97, dated 11.3.97.
