ORDER:-
In the Government order first read above, Government have enhanced the maximum age limit for direct recruitment to all posts under the Government of Tamil Nadu from 28 years to 30 years. Apart from this age limit, in respect of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes candidates to the posts for which Secondary School Leaving Certificate or below Secondary School Leaving Certificate is prescribed, an age concession of 5 years is being allowed under Rule 12(d) of the General Rules for the Tamil Nadu State and Subordinate Services, in cases where the candidates do not possess a qualification higher than the minimum General educational qualification (Secondary School Leaving Certificate).
2. In the Government Order second read above, orders were issued enhancing the age limit of 30 years to 32 years in respect of candidates belonging to Most Backward Classes/Denotified Communities who do not possess a qualifications higher than the minimum general educational qualification (SSLC), the age limit for direct recruitment to the posts for which SSLC or below is prescribed as the minimum educational qualification at entry level.
3. In the letter third read above the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission has stated that though the maximum age limit has been enhanced from 30 to 32 to Most Backward Classes and Denotified Communities, the position prevailing to Backward Classes is equal to Forward Communities and their age limit is 30. Hence, the Commission has suggested that the maximum age limit of 30 may be enhanced to 32 for the posts carrying minimum general educational qualification in respect of Backward Classes. The Director of Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, in the letter fourth read above has requested to issue orders enhancing the maximum age limit of 30 to 32 to candidates belonging to Backward Classes who possess minimum general educational qualification at entry level, as recommended by Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.
4. The Government, after careful consideration have decided to accept the recommendation of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. They accordingly direct that Backward Classes candidates, who do not posses a qualification higher than the minimum general educational qualification (SSLC), the age limit for direct recruitment to the posts for which SSLC or below is prescribed as the minimum educational qualification at entry level be enhanced from 30 (Thirty) to 32 (Thirty two) years.
5. This order will take effect from the date of issue of this order.
6. Necessary amendments to Special Rules and General Rules will be issued separately.
