ORDER:

In the Government order first read above,  orders    were    issued    sanctioning a   sum of  Rs. 39,98,631/- towards the 50% State Government's share of Insurance premium at the rate of Rs. 14/= (Rupees Fourteen only) per fishermen for 5,71,233 registered active marine and inland fishermen/fisherwomen  for renewal of the Group  Accident Insurance Policy for the period from 10-12-2005 to  9-12-2006  payable to the   FISHCOPFED, New Delhi under the  Group Accident Insurance Scheme, a component of the  Centrally  Sponsored National Scheme of Welfare of Fishermen.    The 50% Government  of  India's share was  released  by the Government of  India   directly    to   the  FISCOPFED, New Delhi.

2)  In the letter second  read above, the  Government of India have conveyed  their  administrative approval for continuance of the scheme  during   the year 2006-07.

3. In the letter third  read above,  the Special Commissioner of Fisheries has  sent proposals  for implementation of this scheme to 5,67,716    members enrolled  in both marine and inland  fishermen / fisherwomen Co-operative  Societies  as  on  31-3-2006  and  sought  for  sanction  of  a  sum of Rs. 39,74,012/- (Rupees Thirty nine lakhs seventy four thousand and twelve only) towards the 50% of premium amount payable by the State Government to FISHCOPFED, New Delhi for coverage  of insurance for the period from 10-12-2006 to 9-12-2007 as follows:-

1)    Number of fishermen         (Marine/Inland)

Total No. of Marine/Inland fishermen/fisherwomen

Insurance premium per head

Rs.14/-

Total Insurance premium at the rate of Rs.14/- per fisherman / fisherwoman.

=Rs.79,48,024/-

50% State share at the rate of Rs. 7/= per fisherman /fisherwoman.

  Rs.39,74,012/-

 

4) The Government after careful examination decided to accept the proposal of the Special  Commissioner of Fisheries  and  sanction a sum of Rs. 39,74,012/= (Rupees Thirty nine lakhs  seventy four thousand  and twelve only) towards the 50% State Government's share of Insurance premium at the rate of Rs.14/- (Rupees fourteen  only) per fisherman / fisherwoman  for 5,67,716 active registered marine and inland fishermen  / fisherwomen   for the    Insurance  period    from  10-12-2006 to 9-12-2007 under the Group Accident Insurance Scheme for active fishermen, a component of the Centrally Sponsored National Scheme of Welfare of fishermen.

5.  The Special Commissioner  of Fisheries shall obtain the approval of Government of India for implementation of this scheme in respect of fisherwomen for the year 2006-07. 

6. The amount sanctioned in para 4 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-

"2405.00 Fisheries 800. Other expenditure - Schemes in the  Tenth Five Year Plan -II State Plan - JZ. Tamil Nadu Fishermen Group Insurance - 11. Subsidies - 01. Individual Based subsidy .(DPC. 2405-00-800-JZ-1118)".

7. This order is issued with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.17710A/AH&F/2006, dated 15.11.2006.
