ORDER:

In the Government Order first read above, orders were issued for the supply of 80 kgs. of additional rice under Public Distribution System at the rate of Rs.3.50 per kg. to 1,40,423 marine fishermen families below poverty line category during the four lean months in the 13 coastal districts of Tamil Nadu  for the year 2004-05, under the scheme of supply of additional 80 kg. rice to marine fishermen.  The Government have  also ordered that the expenditure  may be controlled by the Director of Fisheries,  Chennai-6 under the head of account "2405.00.800.KC-1122".

2. In the Government order second read above,  a sum of Rs.2,58,32,755/- has been sanctioned towards the supply of 4377.691 Tonnes of rice to 66,147 fisher families during the year 2004-05.   In the letters third read above, the Special Commissioner of Fisheries, has reported that the Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation Limited  has sent an indent for a sum of Rs.2,92,64,189/- (Rupees two crores ninety two lakhs sixty four thousand one hundred and eighty nine only) for  4,617.413 Tonnes of  rice supplied under the scheme during the year 2004-2005. The Special Commissioner of Fisheries has  therefore requested the Government to sanction the differential amount of Rs.34,31,434/- (Rs.2,92,64,189/-Rs.2,58,32,755/-) to be paid to the Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation Limited,  Chennai.

3. The Government have examined the proposal of the Special Commissioner of Fisheries, carefully.  Sanction is hereby accorded for a sum of Rs.34,31,434/- (Rupees thirty four lakhs  thirty one thousand four hundred and thirty four only) being the differential amount pointed out by Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation Limited  towards the supply of additional 80 k.g. rice  to fishermen under the Public Distribution System rate through Public Distribution System outlets during the four lean months in the thirteen coastal districts of Tamil Nadu during the year 2004-2005.

4. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-

"2405-00-Fisheries-800.  Other expenditure - Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan-II.  State Plan-KC.  Food subsidy to fishermen-11.  Subsides-02.  General subsidy (DPC 2405-00-800-KC-1122)"

 

5. The Special Commissioner of Fisheries, is authorized to draw and disburse the amount to the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, Chennai.  

6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department - vide its U.O.No. 68369/AH&F/06-1,  dated  7.11.2006.
