ORDERS;

The total area available for rearing fish seeds is about 1,30,878 Sq. ft.,  out of which 51,996.82  Sq. Ft. are under major repair.  Repairing the rearing space will require huge capital outlay.   It is estimated that Tamil Nadu Fisheries Department Waterbodies needed 367.60 lakh fingerlings.   The Director of Fisheries has,  therefore, purchased 110 floating cages and supplied to departmental waterbodies and has now sent proposals to Government for purchase of 100 more cages to Inland Waterbodies under the control of the Department at a cost of Rs. 5.00 lakhs under Part II Scheme for the year 2003-04.

2) The Government after careful examination, approve the proposal of the Director of Fisheries for purchase of 100 cages to Inland Waterbodies under the control of Fisheries Department, under Part II Scheme for the year 2003-04, at a total cost of Rs. 5.00 lakhs.

3) Sanction is hereby accorded to the Director of Fisheries to incur an expenditure of Rs. 5.00 lakhs (Rupees Five lakhs only) towards purchase of 100 cages to Inland Fisheries under the control of Fisheries Department under Part II Scheme for the year 2003-04 after observing all required formalities.

4) The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to

“ 2405.00 Fisheries – 101 – Inland Fisheries – Schemes in the Tenth Five Year plan – II. State plan – JE Exploitation of Fishing in Inland waters and Marketing .19. Machinery and Equipments 0l. Purchase (DPC. 2405.00. 10 JE.1916)”  

5) This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.28580 / AHF / 03, dated 27.5.2003.
