ORDER:

In the Government Order first read above, orders were issued for the supply of 80 kgs. of additional rice under Public Distribution system at the rate of Rs.3.50 per kg, to 1,40,423 marine fishermen families below poverty line category during the four lean months in the 13 coastal districts of Tamil Nadu, for the year 2004-2005, under the scheme of supply of addl. 80 k.g. rice to marine fishermen. The Government has also ordered that the expenditure may be controlled by the Director of fisheries Chennai-6 under the head of account "2405.00.800.KC-1122".

2. In the letter fourth read above the Director of Fisheries has requested for sanction of a sum of Rs.2,58,32,755/- under this scheme for the year 2004-05 as follows:-

3. The Government after careful examination accept the proposal of the Director of Fisheries. Sanction is hereby accorded for a sum of Rs.2,58,32,755/- (Rupees two crores fifty eight lakhs thirty two thousand seven hundred and fifty five only) towards the supply of additional 80 k.g rice to fishermen under the PDS rate at PDS outlets during the four lean months in the thirteen coastal districts of Tamil Nadu for the year 2004-05.

4. A sum of Rs.5,89,78,000/- is provided in the BE 2005-06. The Director of Fisheries is authorised to draw and disburse the amount sanctioned in para 3 above to the General Manager, Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation Limited, Chennai-10.

5. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to the following head of account :-

" 2405-00-Fisheries - 800. Other expenditure - Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan - II. State Plan - KC. Food subsidy to fishermen-11. Subsidies -02. General Subsidy (DPC 2405-00-800-KC-1122) ".

6. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.87/DS(B)/06-1, dated 23.3.2006.
