READ:-

1. G.O.Ms.No.103, Animal Husbandry &Fisheries Department, dated 31.10.2002.

2. From the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Krishi Bhavan, New Delhi Lr.No.12012/3/2000-Fy(WU), dated 11.10.2002 and 30.10.2002.

3. From the Director of Fisheries Letter No. J2/69770/2001, dated .27.12.2002.

ORDER:

In the Government Order first read above, sanction has been accorded towards the Central and the State Governments share including the beneficiaries share of Rs.16,22,62,050/- (Rupees Sixteen crores twenty two lakhs sixty two thousands and fifty only) for disbursement to 1,39,000 marine fishermen of Chennai to Ramanathapuram Districts including Rameswaram under the Saving-cum-Relief Scheme for the year 2002-2003.

2) It has also been ordered therein that separate orders would be issued in respect of Kanniyakumari, Thirunelveli and Thoothukudi Districts on completion of the fishing season in these districts as well as collection of their monthly contribution in full.

3)In their letters second read above, the Government of India have released their entire share for implementation of this scheme in Tamil Nadu during the year 2002-2003.

4) In her letter third read above, the Director of Fisheries has stated that a sum of Rs.2,01,39,900/- has been collected from the 34,386 marine fishermen of Kanniyakumari District during the fishing period from April 2002 to November 2002. The Director of Fisheries has therefore requested the Government for sanction of a sum of Rs.4,02,79,800/-(Rupees four crores two lakhs seventy nine thousand and eight hundred only) towards the State and the Central Governments share including the beneficiaries share for disbursement to 34,386 marine fishermen of Kanniyakumari District under the Saving-cum-Relief Scheme for the year 2002-2003 as follows:-

Contribution made by the beneficiary fishermen for 8 months

Rs. 2,01,39,900.00

50% State’s share

Rs. 1,00,69,950.00

50% Central’s share

Rs. 1,00,69,950.00

TOTAL

Rs.4,02,79,800.00

5) The Government after careful examination, sanction a sum of Rs.4,02,79,800/- (Rupees four crores two lakhs seventynine thousand and eight hundred only) towards the beneficiaries, the State Government and the Central Governments’ contribution, for disbursement to 34,386 marine fishermen of Kanniyakumari District under the Saving-cum-Relief Scheme for the year 2002-03.

6) The amount sanctioned in para 5 above shall be debited to the following head of account:-

"2405.00 – Fisheries – 800. Other Expenditure – Schemes in the Tenth Five Year Plan – VI .Schemes Shared between State and Centre – UA. Relief Scheme for Tamil Nadu Marine fishermen

during lean months – 11. Subsidies - 01. Individual based subsidy (DPC . 2405.00.800.UA.1117)".

7) This order issues with the concurrence of Finance Department vide its U.O.No.107/JS(TB)/2003 dated.8.5.2003.
